šŸ About Charlie’s Auto Museum

Nestled in the heart of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Charlie’s Auto Museum is a unique, family-owned destination that celebrates over 100 years of motoring history.

Founded in 1988 by Charlie Schwerkolt, the museum began with just a handful of cars and petrol memorabilia. Since then, it has grown into one of the region’s most diverse and fascinating private collections — proudly featuring not only vintage and classic cars, but also motorcycles, microcars, engines, signs, model cars, and motoring curiosities from around the world.

Charlie’s passion for collecting was sparked after a successful career in bottle recycling, scrap metal, and forklift hire in Prahran. When his son took over the family business, Charlie turned his attention to building something truly special — a place where motoring enthusiasts and families alike could reconnect with the vehicles and objects that helped shape generations.

Today, the museum continues to evolve, with new exhibits added regularly, offering a nostalgic trip through time for curious travellers, history buffs, and car lovers of all ages.
